I had an 8xgreat-grandma whose maiden name was Davies
therefore
i am probably part Welsh!
(why that's a big deal: for years i believed i was part-Welsh, and more recently started taking some pride in that. Then about a month ago my grandma told that as far as she knew, we had no Welsh ancestry, and i had a minor existential crisis about that. So i looked thru my grandma's geneology info and found a Davies. which is a Welsh surname. booya, and if i could say that in Welsh, i would.)
