i've noticed that in the past few years i've sort of been exploring my identity as female, especially as a woman. part of this has included dealing with relationships (not romantic so far) with guys, seeing God's feminine side (if you don't want to practice faith that way, fine, but don't try and say i'm wrong), respecting and appreciating women and womanhood and more mature women, relating with other women/girls and recognizing what we have in common, and finding a favorite music artist who's female. it's funny, i think in high school i thought to myself, "hm, i like music a lot, but who's my favorite female musician?" Rebecca St. James came to mind, but she's not really one of my favorites. (she's cool, though. nothing against her or her music.) Now there's Patti Smith! the cool thing here is, not only do i like her music and poetry, but in the body of her work one can see different stages in her life (she's 61.)
